So since I've been pregnant with little girl I've basically done zero quilting. I really need to get back to it because I have lots to do! So I'm going to link up with Sew BitterSweet a her Lovely Year of Finishes to try and achieve something in April.
My list:
1. finish square for MoMs bee (piece)
2. Finish Grey Diamond quilt (sandwich, quilt, bind)
3. Quilt for baby girl
I also need to finish a quilt for J that needs to be sandwiched, quilted and bound, I have one for Soph I've been working on blocks for and then just a fun one that I'm almost done with all the blocks. That might be too much for April.
Baby girl is still hanging in there. I'm 31 weeks along and she has been busy busy growing. I'll post an update soon.

52 Lists
I saw this on another blog who got it from Meet Me at Mike's. It's just creating a list every week. So here is mine.
My dad worked for Exxon Mobil growing up so the first 6 places were all locations I moved to with my family. I was born in Texas and I spent most of my childhood years in Houston so I say that I grew up in Texas, but I've lived in Virginia more years now than anywhere else. New York was only for a few months but I went to preschool there and that is where my grandmother lived. It holds a special place in my heart. My mother and sister and I lived there while we were looking for a house in Hoptacong. I went to James Madison University in Harrisonburg, and loved it. Harrisonburg is a very unique fun college town with lots of outdoor things to do that I did not take enough advantage of. We lived in Washington DC when we were first married and I loved it. I would move back there but we can't afford a house with a yard. We lived in Fairfax when we found out we were expecting the girls and then brought them home from the hospital to our first home in Burke. I love our house now, we live in a great neighborhood with lots of parks and we have amazing neighbors. It is a fantastic kid friendly area. Plus I work 5 minutes from home!

Here Comes Baby 3
I'm pregnant! I'm due June 2, 2013 and I'm thrilled. The girls are super excited.
I've enjoyed this pregnancy so much more than the last one. Don't get me wrong I was thrilled about the girls too but once we found out they were twins there was a lot of anxiety because we never in a million years thought we would have twins. Plus my symptoms were the girls were greatly amplified because of all the extra hormones.
This pregnancy (knock on wood) has been much easier. First trimester was exhausting but little to no morning sickness. Second Trimester (I'm 16w) has been pretty easy. I have a lot more energy but I have a few aches and pains, mostly my back and my hips a little. Baby also seems to be pressing on my body down south.
This pregnancy is flying by and here is to hopefully another quick and healthy 24 weeks. I also hope J and I can figure out a name for the little one! We have trouble agreeing :)

Blurry baby transverse and looking down at NT scan. Baby did not want pictures taken and had its back and tush to us the whole time.
Bumpish at 13 weeks (I'm heavier this pregnancy than with the girl but I've lost 6 lbs total, baby is not a fan of food. I'm not sick but have no appettite. I'm only allowed to gain 15-20 total.)

Big Steps
In preparation of the girls starting preschool this fall I decided it was time to make sure they got some milestones checked off their lists. Namely this meant potty training and good bye pacis.
We had basically been potty training off and on, kinda, since they turned two. They would run around with barely anything on and I would argue with them about going on the potty. Finally in August I decided we needed to just do it. No more pull ups or diapers except to bed. It worked, they used the potty. We practiced pulling our pants up and down and wiping and we did it. Going to preschool has really helped finalize this. We still have occasional accidents when we are busy playing but no accidents at preschool! In the car the other day Sophie yelled out, "I have to go to the bathroom!" "Can you hold it?" "Um maybe." Usually she says I have to go and then goes. So I pulled over at the next place that showed up- 7-11. They only had an employee bathroom, but maybe because I looked so frantic and pathetic holding on to two little people's hands they let me take her in the bathroom. So we decided to spend some money in thanks. I was going to just buy a water, yeah we ended up with cheetos and oreos too. But she made it! Potty training has its downside but I like them being out of diapers it really does make it easier.
The paci thing I might regret though. We had to take Sophie to the doctor for a rash around her face and the doctor said get rid of them. She and I made a big deal about how the girls were too big and we needed to send our pacis to the babies that came to the dr. So I went home and they helped pack up their pacis in a pretty bag and we set it by their bed so the paci fairy could come and take the pacis to the doctor. Well the paci fairy left a lovely surprise and the pacis disappeared. It took Lily a day and she was over it, it took Soph a week or so and we have forgotten about them. In the mean time though they are awful sleepers now. They wake up at least once a night each. Which means mommy is up twice a night. I might be ready to give the pacis back. It has gotten a little better in the last few days though, but Lily insists on us leaving the light on now.

And We're 3
My bitty babies have turned three! Can't believe it. They aren't babies any more. They have these long legs they are both 36 inches and 29 pounds. It is amazing how time flies.
Sophie Anne-
That's how you introduce yourself. You love to play with all the kids and want everyone to be your friend. You are quick to trust people and quickly get your little heart broken if they don't want to play with you right that second. You are sweet and loving, you love to chase and squeeze the cats (much to their dismay), you adore all dogs, you are my pirate. You are adventurous about some things- climbing, playing with other kids, talking to adults, but other things make you nervous- swimming, going to new places.
You love dinosaurs and dragons and pirates. Your favorite shirt is your red dragon shirt and you like to wear pants (according to you). You love to bounce and dance, and you like superheros. Your favorite color is blue. You love going to school and playing with the other kids but you get frustrated easily and have a quick temper. When you get mad you act out physically which gets you in lots of trouble. You are a tough kid. You love to repeat things that mommy and daddy say and the funniest things come out of your little mouth. I think one day you could be a teacher, or an engineer. You are very good at spacial relations and numbers but you are also very loving.
Princess Lily-
You are amazing. You are so smart and know exactly what you want. Raising you is a challenge, fun, but hard. You are very stubborn and so smart, mommy and daddy can't trick you. You are a snuggle bug and a mommy's girl. You are also a girly girl, you love to dress up and hate to cover up your pretty outfits with a coat. I don't know what we are going to do when the weather gets really cold! You love to be the center of attention. You sing and dance and love to read. You make up your own stories and songs. You are our rule enforcer but also an instigator. For a while you would fight with Soph and pinch her, knowing she wouldn't cry, then she would retaliate and you would sob so Sophie would get in trouble. Mommy caught on to that fast. You love the color pink and Disney princesses. Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty are your favorite. You love to play in the kitchen at preschool and you play dress up at home. You are very good at playing independently and love to sit and read books to yourself. You are a very special girl.
We love you both so much!

Conversations in Potty Training
Potty Training is going to be the death of me.
Daily conversation:
Me: Do you need to go potty?
Lily: no
Me: Are you sure?
Lily: No!
Five minutes later
Me: Do you need to go potty?
Lily: I did (reveals little puddle on my couch)
Me: I just asked you (pulling hair out in frustration)
Seriously going to need new furniture when this is over.
Additions to my things I thought I'd never say list:
Don't touch your sister's vagina!
(running around naked potty training, you know so I don't have to do laundry everyday)
Don't run and pee!
(Lily walked across the floor while peeing leaving a two foot trail on my carpet for me to clean up)

It's a good thing they're cute

(Lily walked across the floor while peeing leaving a two foot trail on my carpet for me to clean up)

It's a good thing they're cute

Not Sure Whether to Laugh or Cry
Having toddelers is a bit of an emotional roller coaster. One second you're yelling at them to share and then you're fixing boo boos and giving out snuggles. Both girls are very into using their immagination and they love to pretend things they see mommy and daddy doing. They are also little parrotts.
Lily has gotten a bit bossy and has lots of interesting ideas about what to play.
She loves to tattle and tell people when they need a time out (mimicking mama). A few little stories:
She is playing dress up with my sister and they come and show me. Em stays with me and Lily disappears to come back and tell Em that she can't find her earring. She says "I need my earring so I can go teach the kids." (that's what I tell her I do when I go to work, teach the kids)
The other day she was explaining to our neighbor that she need to climb up on his roof to get the crown off the chimney (no idea). She gives him a long explanation and he tries to tell her she can't go on the roof because it is dangerous. She pauses and looks at him with one hand on her hip and she throws one hand up and says "so what's the problem?"
She farted the other day, and our nanny told her to say excuse me. Lily told her "why, my butt burped."

Sophie isn't as bossy but she has her own little quirks. She is my rough and tough girl.
Soph loves to tell you all about things. When we read a book, she won't let you turn the page until she describes the pictures to you. She loves to help clean up and gets terribly mad if you start without her. She is daddy's shadow. She is also the queen of coming up with weird names for things:
daddy crackers- peanut butter crackers
bam bam- band aid
cow milk- vanilla milk (has a cow on the carton)
ice- she needs an ice pack to go to sleep with (it's a stalling technique)
Life will never be boring.

Under Quarantine and other randomness
We've been horribly miserably sick over here for the last week and a halfish. The girls had their first bout with pink eye, which is lovely. Actually we were pretty lucky and only the girls had it and we've seemed to have been able to get rid of it completely. They only had bad symptoms for a little over a day. We've had lots of rough nights though. Both girls ended up in bed with us, taking turns, over the last few nights.
I think the culprit of some of the left over sniffles is this:
gotta love all the pollen. We've also had some serious tick problems. We've been doing lots of hiking and J and I both had tick bites, luckily we only found one crawling on Lily. Ugh they creep me out. We also found two snakes on a walk. Can I tell you how much I hate snakes! Being a Texas girl I've seen my fair share but I think they are on the top of my hate list. J lets me close my eyes when they are on tv and tells me when the bad part is over. I know I'm a child.
The tree above is in our front yard and I adore it. It is a pain in the but though. I think J and I (mostly J) have swept and raked up the falling petals about twice a day for the last week. He wants to cut it down, don't worry he won't. It blooms for all of two days and then everything falls off. In a month or so it will drop it's seeds and then we'll get to clean all those up too.
I'll leave you with a picture of my Lily bug, she's a ham but will only let you take pictures of her when she is in the right mood.
